PROBLEM

With many adults experiencing mental health issues, there are a lot of help lines available. How can a person develop positive habits at an early age to prevent mental illness in adulthood and gain a positive outlook?

RESEARCH

User Flow

Here's an early user flow which provides users with 3 main paths. To make this app habit forming, we choice to gamify the app, where points are awarded when the app was used in consecutive days, progressing the user to a 'badge' status.

MVP User Flow

After conducting user interviews with teenagers, the user flow was revised to reflect a more linear journey as some users found the original flow confusing, or they weren't sure how to complete certain tasks.

WIREFRAMES

These wireframes display what happens when a user selects a task, and gains points.

After user research was conducted on teenage girls, we discovered that teens enjoy creating avatars. To motivate them to use the app consecutively, when points are awarded, they can use points to buy accessories and unlock more when more points are earned.

UI DESIGN

I redesigned the original concept to reflect a lighter, more positive and refreshing look and feel. I chose bright and complimentary colours to convey a mood of positivity, with modern UI design elements.

The final screens reflected a fresh, positive look and feel. All the user feedback from the teenage girls said they loved the look of the screens and created a positive experience.
